Privacy Policy
This website is operated by Precision IO Group Inc. (“Precision IO,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use this site, what we deliberately do not collect, how we use what we do collect, and the choices and rights you have.
Our approach to health information. Because this website is about a health topic, we treat information about your use of this site, including the pages you visit, as consumer health data and protect it that way, no matter where in the United States you live.
1. Consumer Health Data
“Consumer health data” means personal information that is linked or reasonably linkable to you and that identifies your past, present, or future physical or mental health status. Because this website is about a health topic, some information collected here is considered consumer health data. Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains what consumer health data we collect, why, who we share it with, and how to exercise your rights. We apply that policy to all visitors, no matter where in the United States you live.
On this site, we may collect consumer health data in three ways:
- With your consent, through our analytics service, which records the health-topic pages you view and whether a Discussion Guide was downloaded during your visit.
- Automatically, when our hosting and security providers process your IP address together with the address of the page you requested, which may reveal the health topic you were reading. This is used only to deliver and secure the website you requested.
- When you choose to send us a message through our Contact Us page that includes health information, such as a report of a problem with a medical device.
Your answers to the educational self-assessment are not collected. The self-assessment runs entirely within your own browser. Your answers are never transmitted to us, never stored by us, and never included in analytics. We cannot see them.
2. What we collect — and what we don’t
The educational self-assessment: nothing. The self-assessment uses fixed multiple-choice options with no text fields, and your selections are processed only on your device to show you the next page. They are not sent to our servers, not saved, and not attached to any analytics event. Closing the page discards them.
Strictly necessary technical data (no consent required). To deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, the providers that run this website automatically and briefly process your IP address and standard request information, such as your browser type and the page requested, in server and security logs. This processing is necessary to provide the website you requested. It is used only to deliver the site and keep it secure, and never for advertising or profiling. Our security provider, Cloudflare, also sets a strictly necessary cookie for this purpose, which is listed in Cookie Settings. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent.
Analytics (only with your consent): Google Analytics. If you consent through Cookie Settings, we use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, whether this educational program is reaching people. It collects: device and browser type; general location derived transiently from your IP address (Google states that Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses); the pages you view; how you arrived at the site; and site events such as a Discussion Guide download. We have disabled Google’s advertising features, including Google Signals and ads personalization, so this data is not used for advertising and is not connected to any Google advertising services. We have also turned off granular location and device data collection. No analytics run, and no analytics cookies are set, unless and until you consent. You can change your choice at any time in Cookie Settings.
Information you choose to send us. Our Contact Us page accepts three kinds of requests: privacy requests, reports of a problem with this website, and reports of a problem with a medical device. For each, we collect only what the form asks for — typically your name, an email address so we can respond, and a short message. The form does not accept file uploads, and we ask you not to include medical records, test results, diagnoses, or other health details beyond what is needed for your request. If you report a problem with a medical device, we ask only for your contact information, and the manufacturer’s quality team will contact you for details. Any message that describes a possible problem with a medical device or an injury will be forwarded to the manufacturer’s quality team, even if it was submitted as a different type of request.
3. How we use it
To operate and secure this website; to measure, in aggregate, whether this educational program is reaching people; to respond to your requests; and to comply with law, including safety-reporting obligations for medical devices. We do not use your information to market specific medical treatments to you, we do not build profiles of visitors, and we do not make treatment recommendations.
4. Consent
We ask for your consent before collecting consumer health data that is not strictly necessary to provide the site. On this site, that means analytics. We will ask for your separate consent before sharing consumer health data for any purpose other than those described in Section 6. You may withdraw consent at any time through Cookie Settings or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent stops future collection; Section 8 explains how to request deletion of what was already collected.
5. We do not sell your data
We do not sell your personal information or consumer health data, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have turned off Google’s advertising features in our analytics settings. Our analytics account is connected to our Google Ads account so that our analytics can report how visitors arrived at this site, including from our own advertisements. We do not send analytics data to Google Ads, we do not use it to build advertising audiences or to target advertising to you, and personalized advertising is turned off.
6. Who we share it with
The service providers below process visitor data on our behalf, under data processing agreements that limit their use of your data to providing their service to us:
Google LLC (Google Analytics) processes analytics data, only after you consent, to provide the measurement service described in Section 2. As described there, we have disabled the features that would connect this data to Google’s advertising systems.
WP Engine, Inc. hosts this website. As the host, it processes the strictly necessary technical data described in Section 2 to serve pages, secure the site, and keep it running.
Cloudflare, Inc. delivers this website’s content and protects it from malicious traffic. To do this, it automatically processes your IP address and related request information as every page loads, for delivery and security only.
Beyond these service providers, we share information only in these limited situations:
- With NeuWave Medical, Inc., our affiliate and the device manufacturer, when a message you send us describes a possible problem with a medical device or an injury. Your report is forwarded to NeuWave’s quality team so it can be investigated and, where required, reported to the FDA. We share only what is needed for that purpose.
- With government authorities, when required by law.
We do not share your information with your doctor, your insurer, or your employer, and we do not share it with any other third party.
7. Retention
Self-assessment answers: never retained — they never reach us. Analytics data: retained at the individual level for 2 months, after which only aggregate reporting remains. Contact Us submissions: sent to the responsible team and not stored on the website itself. We keep them only as long as needed to resolve your request and as required by law. Device problem reports: kept by the manufacturer as required by FDA medical device regulations. Records of privacy requests: kept for 24 months to document our response, as required by law.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to: confirm whether we have collected your personal information or consumer health data; access it; correct it; delete it; withdraw your consent; and receive a list of the third parties and affiliates with whom it has been shared, with their contact information. To exercise these rights, use the Contact Us page (select “Privacy request”), email info@neuwave.com, or write to us at the address in Section 12. We will verify your request and respond within 45 days, or sooner if the law requires.
Please note: because our analytics does not collect your name or contact details, we may not be able to match analytics data to you in order to access or delete it. If we cannot, we will tell you and explain why.
We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as a request to opt out of analytics. If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our response or by emailing info@neuwave.com with “Appeal” in the subject line. Someone other than the person who made the original decision will review your appeal, and we will respond in writing within 45 days. If you are not satisfied with the result, you may contact your state Attorney General. We will never discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf where permitted by law. The Contact Us form includes an option to identify yourself as an authorized agent.
8A. Additional information for California residents
In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information: identifiers (such as IP address, name, and email address, if you contact us); internet or other electronic network activity (such as pages viewed, with your consent); and sensitive personal information (health-topic browsing, with your consent, and any health information you choose to include in a message). We collect this information from you and automatically from your browser or device, for the purposes described in Section 3. We disclose it only to the service providers and affiliate described in Section 6. We do not sell or share personal information, and we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of consumers under 16. We use sensitive personal information only for purposes permitted by California law, so we do not offer a right to limit its use.
9. HIPAA
This website is not a healthcare provider and, in operating this site, we are not acting as a HIPAA covered entity or business associate. Information you submit here is protected by this policy and applicable consumer privacy laws, not by HIPAA. Never submit medical records through this site.
10. Children
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
We will post any changes here with a new “Last updated” date, and where changes materially affect consumer health data — including any change to the analytics configuration or the service providers described above — we will seek new consent where required.
12. Contact
